How it works

Two routes to money before payday: Brigit's 0% advance of up to $500, or a personal loan of $200–$5,000 through our lender network. Here's how each works, how to apply, and how to choose.

Two ways to get cash through this site

HelloBrigitApply covers two different products, and the right one depends on how much you need and how long you need it for.

Rule of thumb: under $500 and repayable on payday → Brigit. More than that, or you'd need to re-borrow next month → a loan with a fixed payment is cheaper and safer.

How Brigit works

Brigit links to your checking account through Plaid and reads 60–90 days of transactions. From that it builds a 0–100 Brigit Score — deposit size and regularity, balance behavior, spending, and your repayment history with Brigit — and that score sets your Instant Cash limit. No credit bureau is involved at any point.

  • Eligibility is three checks shown in the app: account open 60+ days, balance above $0, and three recurring deposits from the same source. All three must be green. Full rules →
  • Limits start at $50–$100 and grow with clean repayments and a positive balance, up to $500 ($250 in Maine). How to raise yours →
  • Delivery is free by ACH in 1–3 business days, or about 20 minutes to a debit card for a small express fee (free on Premium).
  • Repayment is a single auto-debit on the date you choose, usually payday. No interest, no late fee; a failed debit just blocks new advances until it clears.
  • Cost is the membership: Plus $8.99 or Premium $15.99 a month. Plans compared →

How to apply for Brigit: 7 steps

  1. Download the Brigit app

Search "Brigit: Cash Advance & Credit" in the App Store or Google Play. The publisher is Bridge It, Inc.

  2. Create your account

Sign up with email or phone, then add your legal name, date of birth, address and SSN or ITIN for identity verification. You must be 18+ and a U.S. citizen or resident.

  3. Link your primary checking account

Brigit connects through Plaid (15,000+ banks including Chime, Chase, Bank of America, Wells Fargo and most credit unions). Link the account where your paycheck actually lands — a secondary or savings account will fail the deposit check.

  4. Wait for your Brigit Score

Within a minute or two the app shows your score and the three eligibility checks. A red check tells you what is missing and when to try again.

  5. Choose Plus or Premium

Instant Cash requires a paid plan. Plus ($8.99) is enough for most people; pick Premium ($15.99) only for included express delivery, Credit Builder or identity protection.

  6. Request your first advance

Tap Instant Cash, choose an amount up to your limit, pick standard or express delivery, and confirm the repayment date.

  7. Repay on the date you chose

Brigit auto-debits the amount. On-time repayments and a positive balance raise your limit over the next cycles.

Don't subscribe until the three eligibility checks are green. Brigit bills the membership either way and doesn't refund partial months.

How personal-loan matching works

If you need more than Brigit will give you, the form on our homepage connects you with a network of lenders and lending partners offering personal loans from $200 to $5,000. HelloBrigitApply is not a lender and doesn't make credit decisions; we pass your request to the network, and lenders decide. Here is what happens after you tap "Apply now".

  1. Fill in the 3-minute form

Amount ($200–$5,000), contact details, income and employer, and the checking account for deposit. The form is encrypted (256-bit TLS).

  2. Get matched

The network runs a soft credit check — it does not affect your score — and shows your request to lenders whose criteria you meet. Matching usually takes seconds. All credit types are considered; not everyone will receive an offer.

  3. Review the offer

You see the amount, APR, term, monthly payment and any origination fee before anything is binding. Compare it with the examples below; if it isn't right, close the page at no cost.

  4. Verify and e-sign

The lender confirms identity, income and bank details — this stage may include a hard credit inquiry — and you e-sign the agreement on your phone.

  5. Receive funds

By ACH to your checking account, as soon as the next business day for agreements signed before the lender's cut-off. Some lenders offer same-day funding.

  6. Repay monthly

Fixed installments, usually auto-debited. Most lenders report to the credit bureaus, so on-time payments can build your credit. Reputable lenders charge no prepayment penalty.

Which one should you use?

  • Short $50–$300 gap, paid back next payday: Brigit (or a cheaper app if you qualify — see alternatives).
  • $500–$5,000, or a need you can't clear in one paycheck: a personal loan with a fixed payment. Repaying a large amount through repeated advances means paying the membership every month and staying a paycheck behind.
  • Brigit says you're not eligible: fix the red check (7 reasons and fixes) or use the loan form — lenders look at income and credit, not Brigit's deposit pattern.
  • Recurring shortfall every month: neither. Look at a consolidation loan, a credit-union PAL or a hardship plan with your creditors. Our emergency cash guide ranks every option by cost.

FAQ

Common questions

How does Brigit work?

Brigit reads your linked checking account, scores it from 0 to 100 based on deposits, balance and spending, and lets you advance $25–$500 of your next paycheck at 0% interest. You repay in one auto-debit on payday and pay a monthly membership ($8.99 or $15.99) instead of interest.

Does applying for Brigit affect my credit score?

No. Brigit doesn't run credit checks and doesn't report advances to the bureaus.

Does checking loan offers affect my credit?

Seeing offers uses a soft inquiry, which doesn't affect your score. If you accept an offer, the lender may run a hard inquiry before funding, which can lower your score by a few points temporarily.

How much will I get on my first Brigit advance?

Usually $50–$100. Brigit's disclosed average advance is about $72. Limits rise with on-time repayments and a positive balance, up to $500.

Is HelloBrigitApply a lender?

No. We're an independent guide to Brigit, and our loan form connects you with a third-party network of lenders. We don't make loans or credit decisions and we're not affiliated with Bridge It, Inc.

Can I use Brigit and a personal loan at the same time?

Yes. They're separate products. A loan repayment showing in your bank account can slightly affect your Brigit Score, but it doesn't disqualify you.
